Taan´s first single DISCO GUY set the pace and the album is pursuing this direction: Disco House exploring the diverse influences of its producer. High energy music and very danceable electronic clubtunes which combine elements of House, Hip-Hop, Disco, Funk and Electro. He brings together funky grooves and loops with heavy and dirty basslines with old-school 80s synths and chopped up vocals and vocoder-lines.

NHAN SOLO´s second release “Fortune Cookie” exemplifies a musical direction that his recent dj sets already indicated: a deeper shade of House, showing heavy UK influences. The single features remixes by superhip dance artists such as Acidkids (Dim Mak), Yolanda Be Cool (Sweat It Out), Monkey Safari and Golden Bug (Gomma) and was produced in collaboration with Taan Newjam. French music director Damien elr°y Vignaux is responsible for the accompanying video – one of the craziest things you´ll see this year.

As always we opened our fortune cookies after lunch, but instead of some mind-boggling prophecies we got a real outlook into the future – and we of course want to share it. Nhan Solo´s first single for Urbasian Music FORTUNE COOKIE will be released June 11th and comes with a tremendous audiovisual package. The well known Acidkids, Monkeysafari and Golden Bug as well as newcomer-of-the-year Yolanda Be Cool provide hot remixes and French music director Damien elr°y Vignaux is responsible for one of the craziest videos you´ll see this year.

Looking at the recent history, April 9th seems to be a date where really important things took place: the USA purchased Alaska, the first Boeing 737 made its maiden flight and the first game of the Philippine Basketball League took place. With the release of Taan Newjam’s first single “Disco Guy” we now add something to this list. The title gives you a good idea of the musical direction – pure Disco House. A busy schedule is nothing new to Nhan Solo. After a little break from the recent Nhan & Taan gigs (find some recaps here), he found himself on a flight to Istanbul. Showing no signs of exhaustion, he rocked the cLUB WTF!? big time. In case you need some distraction from enjoying the first sunny days here in Berlin check out the footage and video of the Nhan´s little excursion.
Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Cologne – it was a busy month for Nhan & Taan, but the crowd at the Rheintriadem saw them in great shape. Their righteous fists dropped one tune hotter than the other and left the crowd speechless. After yet another successful mission the two of them will retreat in their secret monastery to recharge their batteries and prepare for forthcoming adventures. You already know that being a Electro Monk is not a nine to five job but what our Ricehat Brothers showed at their recent shows in Munich was something else: The evening started at a hidden location in Munich´s Baaderstraße with the Ricehat Brothers spreading their musical wisdom side by side. After finishing this first mission they headed straight to the club Erste Liga, where the Top Friend Party demanded special skills of Nhan Solo. But being a real partner in crime, Taan kept close to watch Nhan´s back and even managed to get some footage. Enjoy!
The two Suol-Brothers Chopstick and Fritz Kalkbrenner headed down south to what appeared to be a summit of Germany´s finest electronic music. Joining TokTok on this evening they encountered a huge crowd willing to dance.

Once one decides to become an Electro Monk, everyday life will never be the same again. Forget nine-to-five and lazy weekends – being on a mission for the greater good is a full-time job. After rocking Hamburg, Urbasian´s Brotherhood of House went straight back to Berlin and showed the crowd at Villa how to get down.
Hamburg has seen our favourite Ricehat Brothers in full force. The photos you´re about to see can only give you a little glimpse about how they got down and left the crowd speechless – but check them out anyway!

A big shout out to Berlin’s fashion designer Cora Isabel David.
As you can see the two electro monks started the western new year with lots of love for the ladies – and they got some love back from them. They not only spread joy, happiness and enlightment but also their sticker and trademark ricehats – and they instantly found new friends.
A big shout out goes to Henk & Blitzer for bringing the Asian brotherhood to Würzburg!
Their numerous missions led Nhan & Taan to almost every corner in the Land of the rising sun. One of their recent duties brought them to Kiev. The Tosho Shop & Bard assigned the Ricehat Brothers with a delicate mission in the cold east. Being trained in the hardest monastry in the south east, managing the Ukranian cold didnt´t get in the way of fulfilling their order.

We sent out Urbasian´s own ambassador of House, Nhan Solo, to bring one important message to Stuttgart: House is the answer. Nhan & Taan on a secret mission: In a not to be told location in Berlin the two Electro-Monks spread their musical wisdom to an exclusive crowd. Starting the evening with some musical treasures, they brought with them from their last duty, they just got straight into a blistering live set.
Although everything happened in utmost secrecy, we were able to secure some footage and even a little video of this night.

Freshly trained from a bootcamp in the Himalayan mountains, Nhan & Taan pooled forces to bring their musical wisdom to the western hemisphere. As it is supposed for real Ricehat Brothers, they fulfilled their mission back to back and the result was an almost five hour long lession in the art of House.
The roof of the Rodeo Club in Berlin was almost set on fire as their iron fists dropped one hot tune after the other …
When not producing his latest Disco-Anthems, Urbasian´s finest Taan Newjam is working for the Mafia. Well, not “the” Mafia (and if he was, we wouldn´t tell you) but Berlin´s own Stiletto Mafia.
Created by artist Stefan Heuser and Elke Volk, the Stiletto Mafia is a virtual photo narrative leaving its complete story to the fantasy of the viewer. Alongside fine gentlemen such as Taan Newjam, Smiley Baldwin, Patrice Bouedibela, Marcus Trojan and Till Harter, beautiful women commit crimes of excess for the greater good: Fernanda Brandao, Jenny Doll and Tina Schürmann are potrayed in comic book shots, showing the dark and dense side of Berlin with their strong contrasts in lighting immediately evoking film Noir-like sceneries.
The greater good, the protagonist of the Stiletto Mafia are fighting for, is equally present in reality: All participants work for free and the proceedings are donated to the Arche Children´s Project.

What´s the best cure for another too short party weekend? Expand the party right into your working week.
This is exactly what Chopstick (Suol) and Till von Sein (Keine Musik) did - by rocking the Cookies Club in Berlin. Their set let the crowd freak out and made everybody forget it was only midweek. Their sophisticated Deep House made this Tuesday even better than some Saturdays we spent at other parties.
Because we were so busy celebrating, we only got a few pictures and a little video – but make sure to check them out anyway.
Berlin. Outside: cold. Inside: hot! In the winter of chaos-torn Berlin, the hot and sexy Fernanda Brandao (Rio de Janeiro) and her crew perform live versus the groovy and funky beats of DJ Taan Newjam (Urbasian) in an old villa in a gritty part of Berlin.
The live-show under the theme BBB – “Brazil-Berlin-Burlesque” – unites Brazilian street spirit with Berlin Electro sounds and exciting burlesque dancing.

A new baby is born and the proud parents Chopstick & Johnjon celebrated its arrival with a little family party at the Gallery Lucas Carrieri.
Labelmates Fritz Kalkbrenner and Nils Penner, as well as Zander VT, Axel Bartsch and Trickski welcomed the newborn with relaxed sets. For this special occasion they dug deep into their record collections and delivered relaxed Rare-Grooves you surely won´t get to hear at a regular gig.

Our favourite street-fashion brand WeSC celebrated their show at Bread and Butter with a furious party at the Villa, Berlin.
While the first floor bumped on a hot mixture of Hip Hop and House presented by SCHOWI (Bass ill Euro/Yum Yum/Berlin), CHROME (Yum Yum/Munich) and MIXWELL (The Hits/Hamburg) the second floor was grooving to the sets of Urbasian´s own TAAN NEWJAM and NHAN SOLO.

The distinctive voice of Fritz Kalkbrenner and the mad skills of the DJ and producer Duo “Chopstick & Johnjon” turned “A New Day” into a worldwide club- and radiohit. Released on the new SUOL label (formerly Baalsaal) the tune features remixes of Till von Sein, Marek Herrmann und Oliver Koletzki. All remixers pay great attention to the songs haunting refrain, but surely don´t forget to match the needs of the dancefloor. Even half a year after its release “A New Day” still causes ecstasy on dancefloors worldwide.
Although the mix dates back a few months it hasn´t lost anything of its appeal. Let the bounce of Nhan Solo´s blistering set take you to the outer limits of House and bring back some nice memories of last fall.
