When not producing his latest Disco-Anthems, Urbasian´s finest Taan Newjam is working for the Mafia. Well, not “the” Mafia (and if he was, we wouldn´t tell you) but Berlin´s own Stiletto Mafia.
Created by artist Stefan Heuser and Elke Volk, the Stiletto Mafia is a virtual photo narrative leaving its complete story to the fantasy of the viewer. Alongside fine gentlemen such as Taan Newjam, Smiley Baldwin, Patrice Bouedibela, Marcus Trojan and Till Harter, beautiful women commit crimes of excess for the greater good: Fernanda Brandao, Jenny Doll and Tina Schürmann are potrayed in comic book shots, showing the dark and dense side of Berlin with their strong contrasts in lighting immediately evoking film Noir-like sceneries.
The greater good, the protagonist of the Stiletto Mafia are fighting for, is equally present in reality: All participants work for free and the proceedings are donated to the Arche Children´s Project.
